The Client
GE Healthcare is a multinational American company specializing in medical and diagnostic technologies. It provides innovative solutions for medical imaging, diagnostics, patient monitoring, and healthcare information management.
The Project: Building Booking Management
In March 2020, GE Healthcare began using G-HR to manage desk and meeting room bookings, optimizing space usage during the renovation of their Milan headquarters. This system allowed for better organization of spaces, ensuring resources were used efficiently and employees could easily find an available workspace or meeting room.
Integration with the Safety Module
In 2021, GE Healthcare requested a solution to manage employee safety in emergencies that required evacuation of the building, such as earthquakes or other threats. Employee safety is a top priority for GE, and integrating the safety module with the booking system was a crucial step in ensuring a secure work environment.
How Does the Emergency Module Work?
Through the booking system, G-HR monitors who is inside the building via user check-ins and check-outs.
The safety manager can create a new emergency and send a notification to all employees who have checked in. Users receive a notification, open the app, and indicate whether they are safe or not.
The manager, upon reaching the assembly point, can conduct a “roll call” using a tablet to ensure everyone is accounted for. This system not only improves emergency management but also ensures that each employee can be quickly located and assisted if needed.
Conclusion
The importance of this project lies in its ability to significantly improve space management and employee safety. GE Healthcare can optimize resource use and ensure a safe work environment. This system not only increases operational efficiency but also demonstrates the company’s commitment to employee well-being.
