From Space Economy to Local Impact: Five Projects Driving Innovation

A discussion bringing together ideas, expertise, and shared visions, with a clear goal: leveraging space economy technologies to benefit local communities.

During the event promoted by IOBO, five projects submitted to European Space Agency programs were presented. These initiatives stem from collaboration between businesses, research institutions, and public bodies, demonstrating how space technologies can already translate into practical, high-impact applications.

Among the projects presented:

  • predictive monitoring of railway infrastructure
  • smart public lighting systems
  • advanced waste management solutions
  • crop monitoring through satellite data
  • road safety supported by predictive models

Different solutions, all moving in the same direction: using data, technology, and expertise to improve efficiency, sustainability, and safety across urban and industrial environments.

The event also served as an opportunity to foster new connections between companies and institutions, encouraging collaboration and offering a shared perspective on the future of the territory.

From the involvement of a technology transfer foundation to the presentation of new innovation pathways, the meeting marks the beginning of a structured journey where collaboration becomes a key driver of development.

A collective effort that highlights an increasingly important model: connecting diverse skills and visions to turn ideas into tangible projects.
